day 1

We made it! Everything went well for leaving at 3am...great idea that was! When we arrived we ate dinner at El Gallo after we got the vans in Mexico City. Then we had the experience of riding all the way to the city of Progreso which was well....an experience. After taking a lot of left turns and speed bumps (now we all thank God for zoning laws back home) we made it to the church. Their youth service was finishing up and we got to put our Spanish into practice for the first time. We are all staying in a brand new house just a few blocks away. Girls upstairs with the "shower" and boys downstairs with the kitchen...talk about role reversal. Sunday has been a full day. It began with going to a rehab center. There we were able to do one of our dramas, Ryan Cummins' testimony, and the Harryman's message. We were blessed to get to meet and pray some of the residents. Right after we went straight to church and walked right into an awesome worship service. Mr. Harryman preached and we spent some time in prayer with members of the church. Lunch was delicious, they served us sopas...Dagen and Ryan ate 12! In preparation for our open air service, we walked the street of Progreso toward the central park inviting people and handing out flyers inviting people to come and watch our program. At the park, we did both skits and Patrick, Drew, and Sarah explained the importance of a relationship with Christ. Before and after our performance we spent a lot of time talking with the people there. The church congregation also has served us an "american" dinner of hoagies. We are all having a fantastic time and so we might misplace our passports.:-)

Mrs. Miller would like us to let you know that all are healthy and we are not sure why our international phone plan is not letting us send messages, so we will try to blog again tomorrow or Wednesday.
Love you all!
from yours truly Patrick and Kirsty...so get used to the sarcasm:-)

PS. Patrick misses his mom lots, and mom...I guess I miss you too!
